The Tenderness of Insects @ VITRINE, Basel

My next solo show, The Tenderness of Insects, opens at VITRINE gallery in Basel on September 11 and runs until 12 January 2020.
The show has been partly produced during my recent residency at Launch Pad LaB in Charente, where I have been collaborating with a 200 year old Oak tree. The Tenderness of Insects marks the latest evolution of my creative ecosystem, the Infinite Present, and reaches out to arboreal beings for wisdom and inspiration.
The Tenderness of Insects is dedicated to my dear friend Heinz, who loved trees.

It’s Everything I’ve Always Wanted, All Plastic is a new site-specific installation commissioned by Museo della Figurina opening on March 8 curated by Diana Baldon and Francesca Fontana.
The intervention hovers and engages within the archival show of the 1984 Fiorucci Stickers album published by Panini, and dwelves into my 2010 Paninaro archive for inspiration. I would like to thank Fondazione Modena Arti Visive for the generous production of all the new works which include 5 Portals, 3 Mad Lab Coats, double sided screenprinted wallpaper, giant stickers and a new typology of works, the Textile Wallpapers.

Nuclear Reaction Cosmic Interaction @ Ex Elettrofonica, Rome

Solo show opening on the September 28 in which I will present an immersive cave-like environment that projects on the gallery’s walls textures and narratives connected to the flat I grew up in, including memories of my mum’s diy lab in the basement. This project marks the Infinite Present’s latest evolution, and takes an introspective turn, mirroring the magnification and broadcasting of our personal lives through social media. It is not only the linear timeline that has collapsed into one infinitely expanding space, it is also the boundary between our inner worlds and the outside world that is evaporating.

    TYPE SPACES

My Paninaro installation (2010) features in this Singaporean book about three dimensional type in space.

    Size: 215×285 mm
    Page: 251

Typography is one of the most intriguing element that pops up all over our daily life. This book explores how we interact with and interpret typography when it is no longer restricted to print or screen. When typography enters three-dimensional space, we can interact with it in ways beyond what the page or screen allows. Bearing that in mind, “Type Spaces” is a book that recognizes this importance that never goes out date and it explores the new meanings that become apparent in text when we can touch it or inhabit it – when image, form, and language converge.
